A few things, made clear.

What happens if I do not renew?

With a perpetual licence, you keep using the last version covered by your licence. Renewing adds another year of updates and priority assistance.

What happens when a subscription ends?

Pro access and updates last through the paid period. Afterwards, you can keep working with Free. Your files remain yours.

Does editing need an internet connection?

Text, code, Markdown, formatting and installed spelling dictionaries work locally. Commercial services such as purchasing and licence activation are separate from editing your files.

What support is included?

Every plan includes documentation and issue reporting. Pro customers with active update coverage receive priority assistance. Individual assistance is not unlimited for the lifetime of a one-off purchase.
